The GSRBC 2025-2026 shows a sector at a crossroads: efficiency, cleaner energy, investment and green certification are advancing, yet construction is outpacing decarbonisation and renovation remains too slow. Bringing this global evidence, the session will explore how actors across finance, planning, design, construction and renovation can use codes, whole-life carbon approaches, labels and resilient design to accelerate the transition of real estate, cities and territories.
The logic behind this framing is to connect the GSRBC directly with SIBCA’s focus on collective action to decarbonise real estate, cities and territories. We could present the report as the global evidence base, while making the session relevant to SIBCA’s audience across financing, planning, design, construction and renovation. Also creating a clear bridge to the panel discussion, where the GlobalABC, European Commission and LCBI perspectives can explore how the report’s findings can be applied through policy, industry tools and practical implementation.
